1933 Rittenhouse Candy E285 Babe Ruth Ace of Spades - Red Tint PSA 6 EX-MT – POP 1; Highest PSA Graded Example!
POP 1 HIGHEST GRADED!!! Presented here is one of Babe Ruth's rarest type cards extant, an outstanding PSA 6 EX-MT 1933 Rittenhouse Candy E285 Red Tint Ace of Spades that resides as the SOLE and HIGHEST GRADED PSA copy! Obscure to say the least, seldom do any Rittenhouse subjects surface, let alone the unparalleled Sultan of Swat, with only ten other Ruth Ace of Spades examples recorded on the PSA Pop Chart. In 1933, the Philadelphia-based Rittenhouse Candy Company issued a 52-subject playing card set, with the cards measuring approximately 1-7/16" x 2-1/4." The set includes 46 individual players, of whom six were issued multiple cards. The different card colors include red, orange, blue and green, as well as the player's name, which is included near the lower edge.

Most significantly, this issue is generally regarded as the last of the "E" card candy sets. The card portrays a classic red tint Bambino headshot within the centrally positioned Spades image, with this relatively clean offering only revealing somewhat rough upper and lower edge cuts. The verso depicts the letter "D", part of a prize redemption promotion to spell out "RITTENHOUSE CANDY CO.", whereby those respective cards would be exchanged for a toy premium. The final ACC designated "E" card issue, a PSA 4 Ruth Ace of Spades sold for $13K in Memory Lane's September 2022 auction, justifying why there are no limits for the potential price tag of this unparalleled PSA 6 Pop 1 marvel that stands alone as the finest of its kind!
