1923 W515-2 #47 Babe Ruth Hand Cut PSA Authentic
SCARCE RUTH STRIP!!! What differentiates the W515-2 set from its W515-1 brethren is the fractionally larger size of the 515-2 strip cards, measuring 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" versus the 515-1's 1-3/8" x 2-1/4" size. Both sets include the same 60-subject checklist and likewise utilize cartoon images taken from original Underwood & Underwood photos. Justifying its condition sensitivity and inconsistent manually cut strips is this PSA Authentic W515-2 #47 Ruth offering that is one of 19 Authentic examples on the PSA Pop Chart; with that 19 number representing 76% of the 25 total PSA examples. The classic Bambino half-body bust image does reveal a light contrast, with the top border reflecting "THE LITTLE" text that was part of the strip's original title "THE LITTLE WONDER PICTURE SERIES." Distributed during the Yankees inaugural championship campaign, it turns back the clock to the year when "The House That Ruth Built" made its grand opening!
