1954 Bowman #66 Ted Williams PSA 7 NM
SPLENDID SPLINTER!!!... By 1953, Ted Williams was already a two-time American League MVP, won the Triple Crown in 1942 AND 1947, and was an accomplished United States Navy pilot. Teddy Ballgame could easily have won five MVPs finishing in the top 5 an astonishing seven more times. His abilities at the plate were unmatched then and now. In 1953, Ted Williams hit .407 with 13 homers and 34 RBIs in 37 games. So, when the Bowman Company discovered that baseball's golden boy, Ted Williams, had a contract with Topps, his card was pulled from production and replaced with a second Jimmy Piersall #66 card. Offered is this scarce Bowman Williams example in PSA 7 NM condition destined to star in some fortunate collection. This bright and clean card of the Splendid Splinter from the 1954 Bowman series is well centered and sharp all over. This Ted Williams card from 1954 doesn't disappoint.
