Circa-1919 "Play Ball" Childhood Notepad Featuring Babe Ruth, Slim Sallee, Eddie Collins and Eddie Cicotte on Cover
Offered is a circa-1919 "Play Ball" notepad with an image of a youthful Babe Ruth warming up for the Red Sox next contest. The primary Ruth image against a simulated leather binding also presents Cincinnati's Slim Sallee, Hall of Famer Eddie Collins and Black Sox pitcher Eddie Cicotte beneath the Bambino. This 8" x 10" children's notepad is still in excellent condition with expected wear at the edges and corners with in the form of light creasing. The ivory cover displays some soiling from handling and more than a century of storage. Paper/cardboard loss is evident at the bottom right of reverse. A really wonderful keepsake from a remarkably impactful time in baseball!
