(LOT 148)
"Unique for the Grade" 1934 Goudey #67 – Bob Weiland PSA 9 MINT – "POP 1" & The Highest Graded Example!

FINEST OF ITS KIND!!! Journeyman southpaw Bob Weiland pitched 12 MLB seasons with five different ball clubs, with his best campaign being 1937 when he tallied 16 wins as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. While the 1934 campaign would see him pitch for both the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians, it would also be the year the legendary Goudey Gum Co. would issue Weiland's #67 subject as part of their highly-coveted 96-player set. While Weiland will never be enshrined in Cooperstown, New York, this miraculous PSA 9 MINT '34 Goudey Weiland offering certainly merits Hall of Fame cardboard status.

The SOLE example at this sanctified MINT tier, it stands alone as the finest '34 Goudey Weiland subject on the planet! Indeed folks, of the 200+ PSA encapsulated copies, not a single example has achieved the perfect 10 assessment. Atypical for any Goudey subject is the virtually perfect centering, with Weiland's portrait/bust pose affixed to a super eye pleasing sparkling green background. Nearly every attribute represents a pack-fresh card including a razor-sharp perimeter, four pinpoint corners, and blemish free surfaces. The best of the rest, its impeccable presentation could make even the most meticulous collector skip a beat, with its undisputed PSA Pop 1 stature outdistancing all of its inferior PSA peers!
