1933 Goudey #154 Jimmy Foxx PSA 8 NM-MT Highest Graded PSA Example!

DOUBLE X!!! This extraordinary Jimmie Foxx 1933 Goudey #154 offering reveals an awe-inspiring PSA 8 NM-MT assessment, that along with a mere 12 other specimens places it as the finest of its kind! The highlight of this majestic offering is the well-centered Jimmie Foxx legendary batting image that was originally taken by none other than the immortal photographer Charles M. Conlon. Not even the extremely gifted Conlon could possibly realize that his timeless Foxx pose would mesmerize viewers for nearly a century of time, with its esteemed stature on Foxx's Goudey subject etched in the hearts and souls of the hobby's most passionate collectors. Along with Hornsby, Aaron and Pujols, many baseball historians consider Jimmy Foxx one of the four greatest right-handed hitters in baseball history. Nicknamed "The Beast" because of his supernatural power, Foxx terrorized pitchers to the tune of 534 lifetime home runs, and along with Gehrig, knocked in a record 100 or more runs in 13 consecutive seasons. Ironically, the year this card was issued, Foxx would claim the American League Triple Crown by belting 48 dingers, knocking in 163 runs and posting a sensational .356 batting average via his 204 safeties.

He would end his sensational 20-year career with a .325 average, 1,922 RBIs and an unfathomable 1.038 OPS, easily placing him as one of our National Pastime's greatest all-time sluggers. His imposing batting pose reveals "XX" as if he has just walloped another majestic long-ball, donning his classic Philadelphia Athletics gray flannels. Justifying the elite assessment is a near-immaculate image, razor-sharp edging, a radiant yellow setting, crystal clear clarity, and vibrant hues. Most significantly and atypical for any Goudey subject, the exalted image exhibits virtually dead-on 50/50 centering between four dazzling white borders, with most Goudey Gum cards reflecting skewed images. The final compliments are pack-fresh surfaces and a super clean verso depicting bold green typography. Indeed, when considering overall eye appeal, one could easily argue this momentous Foxx offering may have warranted a half-grade bump that would place it as the undisputed highest graded example. Yet, its current shared number one ranking will more than suffice for even the most meticulous enthusiasts. A blazer to say the least, its mesmerizing aesthetics and highest graded stature merit the highest hobby accolades, and it can easily become a centerpiece attraction in your esteemed collection via a simple final bid.
