(LOT 1523)
"Unique for the Grade" 1954 Bowman #33 Vic Raschi with Traded Line PSA 10 GEM MINT - "POP 1": The SOLE Highest Graded Example!

This spine-tingling PSA 10 GEM MINT 1954 Bowman keepsake of Yankees pitcher Vic Raschi reflecting the more obscure "Traded Line" just happens to resides as the SOLE example at the pinnacle "10" grade! Standing at the peak of the PSA "Pop" Chart, its hallowed assessment has managed to surpass 170+ of the other inferior PSA encapsulated copies. Raschi spent most of his 10-year career throwing blazing fastballs in the Bronx, assisting the Yankees in winning six world championships. From 1948-1951, the 6' 1" 205 lb. burly right-hander won an outstanding 82 games, including three consecutive 21-win campaigns (1949-51).

Interestingly enough, although he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals before the start of the 1954 season, Bowman had already issued his '54 Bowman subject portraying him in Yankee pinstripes. The Bowman Gum Company did manage to eventually update his #33 subject with a "Traded Line" on the reverse (versus the initial and more common "No Traded Line" version), with this miraculous "POP 1" offering reflecting the scarcer "Traded Line". His representation on this extraordinary offering is nothing short of sensational, starting with a super eye pleasing good-natured smiling pose by the Yankees dugout. The fine centering, bright white borders, blistering sharp corners and ultra-clean surfaces all combine to justify why this "crème de le crème" sole PSA 10 truly merited its "unique" assessment!
