c.1940s Joe DiMaggio 8" x 10" Type 1 Original Photograph - PSA Encapsulated Authentic
TEXTBOOK!!! Setting aside his likely unbreakable 56-game hitting streak, Joe DiMaggio was one of the purest hitters in New York Yankees or Major League Baseball history. In the PCL, playing for the San Francisco Seals, he hit safely in 61-consecutive games setting a Pacific Coast League record. His swing was pure and deliberate. And though he didn't necessarily pack the power that some of his counterparts possessed, he did manage to wallop 361 home runs and only struck out 369 times. Extraordinary! Offered is an 8" x 10" Type 1 photograph of the Yankee Clipper at follow-through. This sepia-toned image is a breathtaking example presenting no obstructions or abrasions to the central image of Joltin' Joe, JOLTIN' one. Light edge wear is visible and some corner abrasions are apparent likely due to removal from a photo album. The back displays a clean look, save for a couple lightly toned areas. This is a beautiful photo of Joe DiMaggio knocking another base hit to drive in one of his 1,537 runs.
