NEW STAR MJ!!! One-of-a-kind - Michael Jordan and this card! In 1986, the Star Company distributed the 8-card subset "Best of the New/Old" to dealers who purchased their 1985-86 complete sets. That same year and only one season into his historic and Hall of Fame career, Michael Jordan had already placed himself among the NBA's elite as he led the league in scoring for the first of ten times, including seven consecutively, for his career. The newly dubbed NBA Rookie of the Year, however, sat out much of his second year due to a foot injury, but in 1986, he returned with a vengeance as he led the NBA in minutes, field goals and attempts, two-point field goals and attempts and scoring, earning him his second NBA scoring title. Offered here is a 1986 Star Best of the New/Old Michael Jordan PSA 9 MINT from that rebound season. According to PSA's Pop Report, this POP 1 example is not only the highest graded example, but the ONLY example listed. In 2022 alone, previous examples graded elsewhere have sold for upwards of $2,600-3,000 according to VCP. With PSA' stamp of approval, we can only guess that those figures will grow, especially for the one and only of its kind. Much like MJ himself!
