111 YEARS OLD!!! The origin of the highly coveted P2 pins traces back to the iconic American Tobacco Company (ATC) that had only recently released their landmark T206 tobacco cards only a year earlier. We can only assume that the unbridled success of the T206 issue prompted the ATC to distribute a different type of baseball player collectible with their desirable cigarette brands. The ATC chose light metal pins to piggyback off their popular T206 cards, with these small relics also achieving a vast collector desirability similar to their tobacco card brethren.
