(LOT 324)
1971 Topps #156 Terry Bradshaw Rookie Card PSA 9 MINT – Only 3 Graded Higher!

Synonymous with Terry Bradshaw's stature as one of Pro-Football's greatest all-time quarterbacks comes along this extraordinary 1971 Topps #156 Bradshaw rookie card that has miraculously achieved the hallowed PSA 9 MINT grade. Indeed, of the approximate 4,200 encapsulated examples, a fractional 0.5% have managed to achieve a "MINT" assessment, with a meager three specimens graded higher! It comes as little surprise that collectors actively seek Terry Bradshaw's most compelling cardboard subjects for the former Steelers quarterback resides as one of the finest "signal callers" to ever grace a football field. The iconic Bradshaw won an astounding four Super Bowls in a six-year period in the 1970s (1974-1979) while claiming two Super Bowl MVP awards, with the Hall of Fame quarterback also receiving the 1978 NFL MVP award. His representation on this 1971 gem is consistent with "sheer perfection" with Bradshaw's pristine image portraying the legendary signal-caller in a classic portrait pose. One of the most defining post-1970 football cards, it was issued within the somewhat tougher second-series (checklist #133- #263) of Topps ultra-popular 263 subject set.

It is no secret that the colorful borders make it extremely difficult to find any mint examples, let alone one that represents the inaugural card of the legendary Terry Bradshaw. Incredibly, this offering's robust red borders show virtually no signs of any wear, stubbornly defying the past 61 years to retain its original pack-fresh state. Superb centering (only revealing a slight partiality towards the right edge), a razor-sharp perimeter edge that includes pinpoint corner tips, and immaculate surfaces all combine to substantiate the "9" assessment that seldom surfaces for this condition sensitive issue. We do not need to elaborate on the unparalleled hobby significance of a PSA 9 MINT rookie card for one of football's greatest all-time players. Museum worthy to say the least, it proudly stands tall as a flawless testament to Bradshaw's relentless "will to win", with this Steelers quarterback the peerless leader of a team that arguably resides as the greatest of them all!
