1960s Willie Mays Type 1 Original Signed Photograph – PSA/DNA Authentic
By the 1960s, Willie Mays was already a Rookie of the Year and MVP. Within the six-years span in which Willie was an everyday player (1954-1959), he led the National League in stolen bases four times and triples and slugging percentage three times. Mays posted and exceptional .326 batting average with 70 triples, 226 home runs, 618 RBIs and 168 stolen bases prior to turning 29 in 1960, so there was so much more to look forward to with this greatest of all five-tool players. Offered here is a fantastic original close-up PSA encapsulated photograph of a youthful Willie Mays on the field with the light standard in the background. With bright white bordering and razor-sharp edges and corners, this 8" x 10" photo shows little to no signs of wear aside from the slightest smudge at bottom left. Mays has signed to the left of his chin in black Sharpie (7-9 strength). The back displays no defects other than minimal foxing across the bottom edge. This is a great addition to any autographed photo collection featuring the 660-home run hitting Say Hey Kid!
