(LOT 295)
1933 Sport Kings #38 Bobby Jones Golf PSA 8.5 NM-MT+

1930 MAJOR CHAMPION!!! By 1933, the year of this issuance, Bobby Jones had retired from competitive golf and prepared to open Augusta National Golf Course, widely considered one of the greatest courses in the world. Jones, who remains the last player to win all four Majors in a single calendar year, was also in the midst of creating and developing and starring in golf instructional films that would be studied for years to come by golfers worldwide to improve their game. A charter member of Golf's Hall of Fame (1974), his 13 Major Championships are second only to Tiger Woods (15) and the immortal Jack Nicklaus (18). Bobby Jones was an unrelenting pioneer for golf, promoting the sport until his death in 1971 and is considered one of the greatest to ever play.

Presented is his 1933 Sport Kings #38 card graded PSA 8.5 NM-MT+ by PSA. Every avid gold collector covets this card, and this offered example's near-immaculate image is a perfect testament to the legendary golfer. The powder blue background and his bright facial hues provide a truly realistic aura to the world-class illustration. Fine centering, virtually no surface blemishes, pinpoint corners and a super clean back complete this "rare for the grade" offering. One of the most coveted pre-war sport cards, this striking Pop 3 offering (w/only 2 examples graded higher) is synonymous with his undisputed golfing legacy, and would immediately elevate the most discriminate collection!
