Roscoe Turner didn't break into aviation until his mid-20s, but when he did he sought to break every record out there and managed to accomplish this on multiple occasions. In the late 1920s, Turner began racing planes ac in 1930 he broke the transcontinental New York to Los Angeles airspeed record, one that he would break again in 1932.
