(LOT 1737)
1935 Babe Ruth in Paris Giving Pointers to French Police Officer 8" x 10" Associated Press PSA Authenticated Type 1 Photograph PSA/DNA LOA

By 1935, few in the world were unaware of the stature of New York Yankees slugger Babe Ruth and the baseball great attracted attention wherever he went. Whether for baseball or pleasure, Ruth traveled extensively and was photographed at every stop. Offered is a photograph of a jovial Babe, clad in street clothes, giving batting pointers to a Paris le policier using the officer's white baton. The borderless image shows some wear at the edges and light surface abrasions and a minor crease at the bottom left corner. The softly toned reverse holds a paper caption entitled "Babe Ruth Gives a Few Hints to Paris Policeman " and is dated 1935. The Associated Press stamping is also present. The great ambassador of our National Pastime once again wins over yet another fan.
