(LOT 854)
Extremely Rare 1962 "Post-Tens" Cereal Tray
Who remembers the cereal boxes that turned into bowls? Post Cereal's "Post Tens" were miniature cereal boxes for individual use as the box (and plastic bag liner) that converted into a usable cereal bowl for children. In 1962, the "Post Tens" were housed in 14" x 3-1/4" x 1-1/4" trays for grocery store counter displays. And just as the Post Cereal boxes featured baseball cards, which were cut from the boxes, the trays also included a trio of star players on the underside to add to the set. Offered is one such extraordinarily rare tray, completely intact with no separations, from the 1962 Post Cereal "Post Tens". A miracle survivor as almost none has been seen in the 60 years of collecting. And why would we? Who would save the whole tray? Included are #28 Marv Breeding, #64 Billy Martin and #158 Bill White. A few minor wrinkles fail to diminish the visual dominance of this showstopper! BEYOND RARE!
