(LOT 340)
1932 U.S. Caramel #11 Rogers Hornsby PSA 5 EX

BEST STL 2ND BASEMAN!!! With all due respect to every second-bagger in St. Louis Cardinals history, but Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby remains atop the list as the greatest Redbird to man second base even 80-plus years after retiring from the game. Hornsby led virtually all major percentage category multiple times, won two National League MVP awards and two Triple Crowns and led the 1926 St. Louis Cardinals to the 1926 World Series title over the heavily favored Ruth and Gehrig-led New York Yankees. Rajah is still widely considered the "greatest right-handed hitter the game ever produced".

Offered is a rare 1932 U.S. Caramel #11 Rogers Hornsby PSA EX 5, the final major U.S. Caramel set released. Fewer than 15 examples grade higher than this Rajah issue. Centering and light wear may account for the grade. Opportunities to purchase this rare release in high-grade can be a scarce as the high-grade cards themselves. The vibrant color, clear imagery and clean verso make this a Hall of Fame card to win! Bid now.
