(LOT 784)
1917 World Series Program at New York – Game 4

Scored. Benton pitches a 2-0 shutout versus Cicotte. Chicago wins the series 4 games to 2 behind 3 Red Faber victories and Eddie Collins hitting over .400. Magnificent patriotic WW1 Woodrow Wilson illustration is arguably the most dramatic of all World Series covers. Exceptional condition except for a top right corner chip. Slight age toning, but far better than the majority of known 1917 copies.
