1933 Spalding Sporting Goods Catalog Featuring Babe Ruth & Bobby Jones GAI NM 7
The name Spalding has become synonymous with sports and they have been producing athletic equipment since 1876 when former Chicago White Stockings pitcher, Albert Spalding, established the company. AG Spalding led the National League in wins for seven straight seasons (1871-1876) for a total of 251 victories and pitched every game with a baseball that he developed. Offered is a GAI NM7 encapsulated 1933 A. G. Spalding & Bros. Spring and Summer catalog. Enclosed in a Lucite holder and wrapped in a Mylar sleeve for protection, the catalog is extraordinarily well preserved with New York Yankee Babe Ruth featured on the front cover and golfing great Bobby Jones adorning the reverse. The striking blue print is eye-catching against a white and slightly toned background. Little to no visible defects on the front; top corner spine on back has minor wear. Stamped at the bottom of the back is the buyer and Indiana sporting goods store name ("Paul G. Klinkenberg – Sporting Goods – Kendallville, Ind".
