(LOT 287)
1932 U.S. Caramel #1 Eddie Collins PSA 8 NM-MT
TOUGH #1 CARD!!! Card #1 in any vintage set is consistently the most condition sensitive card the set has to offer, due to reasons we're well aware of. However, when you consider that one of the games greatest and most respected players graces that card, and I should add, that said card is also one of the finest examples in the hobby well, that's when the importance of card #1 becomes magnified. This superb example of the man they called "Cocky" had many reasons to be so. An Ivy League grad at a time when less than a handful could make that claim, played the game like a kid that honed his skills on the sandlot, not on a privileged field. Famed Baseball historian and analyst Bill James, calls Collins "the greatest second baseman of all time" and who are we to argue with Bill James! Just a single card getting a higher grade. Rarely Offered!!!
