(LOT 49)
Miraculous 1933 Tattoo Orbit (R308) 100% Complete 51-Card Set – The Only Set Listed on the PSA Set Registry!

If you are a collector absolutely obsessed with type card rarity, then this miraculous 1933 Tattoo Orbit R308 51-card complete set is the prize for you! Indeed, this extraordinary offering sporting a 2.363 GPA w/Top Pop Bonuses, to the best of our knowledge, currently resides as the only known "complete" compilation, with all of its ultra-scarce 51 PSA encapsulated cards compiling this "unique-like" gathering. The 1933 Tattoo Orbit Self Develop R308 set continues to be one of the most obscure baseball card issues on the planet, and while it assumingly should include approximately 60 cards, there are several "voids" in the 151-210 checklist that result in only 51 known subjects. Its unparalleled rarity is justified by the PSA population report that currently lists only 159 encapsulated examples, with this complete 51-card gathering amazingly accounting for nearly one-third of the total existing PSA graded specimens! Impressively, 22 of the 51 subjects are Cooperstown Inductees, spearheaded by the immortal Jimmie Foxx (#153), Lefty Grove (#182) and Dizzy Dean (#202).

The blank-backed cards portray over-exposed sepia-toned player images against a light/creamy background and include the player name, team and card number under each player illustration. The cards were issued in packs (one per pack) with a piece of blotter paper and gum, and are extremely condition sensitive with virtually all of the PSA encapsulated copies reflecting low grades. Measuring approximately 1-1/4" x 1-7/8", any subject seldom surface for the taking, let alone a complete gathering that is obviously destined to find a final resting place in one of the premier type card collections. Incredible as it may seem, 19 of the 51 cards represent true "1 of 1" highest graded examples, accounting for 37% of the set's cards existing as the sole and highest graded examples! If you are an excessive set enthusiast and painstakingly pursue the most eclectic cardboard gatherings, then you should be targeting this "one of a kind" 51-card R308 Tattoo set that may never again surface for the taking.

As for the somewhat technical assessments, to reiterate, their unparalleled condition sensitivity renders the grades virtually irrelevant, with the "right to own a copy" philosophy prevailing as the most significant concept. For your convenience, listed below is a chart including all 51 players, HOF status (if applicable), PSA Grade, PSA "Pop" and "Pop Higher" figures. FYI, our MLI website has provided a link to the PSA website whereby you can view in detail this "UNIQUE" set that currently stands as the only set on the PSA Registry (titled: "MEMORYLANEINC")as well as a Chart listing all 51 players, HOF Status ( if applicable), PSA Grade, PSA "Pop", and PSA "Pop Higher" figures.
