(LOT 1345)
1947 Chicago Cardinals Championship 14k 1.2oz Solid Gold Football Charm with Chain Presented to Leo Dillon with Family Signed LOA

We are excited to be offering this 14k 1.2oz Gold Charm and Chain that was presented to Leo Dillon, a member of the Comisky Park staff, during the Chicago Cardinals 1947 championship season. The team was highlighted by the members of the famous "Million Dollar Backfield" that included Charley Trippi, Paul Christman, Elmer Angsman, and Pat Harder. That Championship year the Cardinals finished the season with a 9-3 record and went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Championship game at their home field, Comiskey Park, 28-21.

This Mini football-shaped 14k 1.2 oz. gold charm is almost 1-inch long and with the attached gold colored chain and fob weighs 1.6oz. The words "CHICAGO CARDINALS" are raised and set above the laces of the football with the year 1947 set around the football laces. The words "WORLD CHAMPIONS" are set in raised type below the laces and "LEO DILLON" is engraved below the "WORLD CHAMPIONS" logo. The charm and chain are in overall EX condition. This collectible comes with an LOA from Bob Dillon, the son of Leo Dillon, who verifies in his LOA that this item has been in their family for nearly 70 years. A very important collectible issued 72 years ago for the high end Football collector.
