(LOT 334)
1954 Bowman #170 Duke Snider (PSA Gem Mint 10) – "1 of 2": Highest Graded Example!

Brooklyn Dodger Hall of Fame centerfielder Duke Snider never looked better than in this sanctified "PSA Gem Mint 10" 1954 Bowman offering that along with a single other copy, stands tall as the finest of its kind! Incredible as it may seem, PSA has encapsulated roughly 1,200 Snider subjects, with only a sole other example managing to achieve the pinnacle "'10" assessment. The "Duke of Flatbush" certainly needs no introduction within the collecting community. Along with Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle, Snider battled throughout the 1950's for New York supremacy at the centerfield position.

One of the few players in baseball history to have hit 40 or more home runs in 5 consecutive seasons and the first National Leaguer to accomplish that feat, the "Duke" was adored by a seemingly endless number of Brooklyn Dodger fanatics, substantiating why his high-grade cardboard mementos are extremely coveted in the collecting community. That said, this magnificent "10" offering merits its supreme hobby accolades via the awe-inspiring Snider central image as he provides a super eye-pleasing smile for the camera while donning his classic blue and gray Brooklyn uniform. The finest imaginable clarity and brilliant hues "steal the show", with the well-centered image residing between four blinding white borders. Both the front and back surfaces appear pack-fresh, with the razor-sharp perimeter the final exclamation point for one of the most breathtaking 1950's cards you will ever come across!
