1964 Topps #150 Willie Mays PSA 10 GEM MINT

POP 2!!! This spine-tingly 1964 Topps Willie Mays "Gem Mint 10" marvel along with a sole other copy just happens to stand tall as the "best of the rest" on the prestigious PSA "Pop' chart! Incredibly, of the 3,100+ encapsulated examples, a paltry two specimens have managed to achieve cardboard perfection. The 1964 season would mark another unfathomable performance by the fleet footed centerfielder, with Mays launching 47 home runs and driving in 111 runs. While his batting average would slightly fall below .300 for the first time in the past 7 seasons, his .296 mark was more than respectable. Synonymous with that awe-inspiring 1964 batting performance is this "perfect" cardboard gem that appears as if has just been pulled from a pack of 1964 Topps cards.

The robust autumn orange hued colors and crystal clear "Say Hey Kid" image are the major highlights of this remarkable keepsake that depicts fine centering, with only a slight favoritism towards the left edge (approx. 45/55 "side-to-side" positioning). Blinding white borders, immaculate surfaces, and 90-degree corners that are so sharp they could draw blood all substantiate the '10" assessment that has only been issued to a single other 1964 Topps Mays. Stubbornly defying "father-time", this 55-year old keepsake is absolutely pristine, with its pinnacle technical assessment and breathtaking aesthetics meriting the highest hobby accolades from any esteemed enthusiast!
