Indeed, of the 1,500+ PSA encapsulated 1963 Fleer Willie Mays subjects, only a meager 2 examples have managed to achieve sheer perfection. The 1963 season would see the Fleer Company "throw their hat" into the baseball card ring when they issued their extremely popular 66-player set with the top three most prestigious subjects being Roberto Clemente, Sandy Koufax and Willie Mays.

Elevating the Fleer cards to a desirable level are the their unique well focused images and radiant yellow diamond shaped logos that include a black player caricature near the lower left quadrant.
