(LOT 113)
1955 Spic and Span Die-Cut Stand Up Set of 18

RARE SET!!! This 18-card, die-cut set is the rarest of all the Spic and Span issues. The Stand-Ups, which measure approximately 7-1/2" x 7", picture the players in action poses and were designed to be punched out, allowing them to stand up. The set is super high grade and arguably the finest set in the hobby. Key cards are as follows: Hank Aaron EX-MT, Eddie Mathews NM and Warren Spahn VG (Leg crease). The overall condition is NM or better, a few cards have extremely subtle wrinkles, most prevalent on the reverse that were created from production. Its clear that this set was never played with as all appendages and end tabs are intact.

Pafko has a subtle crease in the arm and Burdette has an unusual area of back damage on the blank back but displays NM on the front. The balance of the players are as follows in NM condition unless noted: Joe Adcock (rev. surface scuffing), William Bruton (light creases), Robert Buhl, Gene Conley (rev. wrinkle at neck), Del Crandall (rev. production wrinkles), Jack Dittmer, Ernie Johnson, Dave Jolly (crease at face), Johnny Logan (tabs never folded), Chet Nichols (rev. wrinkle at neck, tabs never folded), Danny O'Connell, Bobby Thomson (light crease at neck) and Jim Wilson. Please go to MLI's website for images of each card. Incredible find issued over 64 years!!!
