(LOT 43)
Scarce T206 UZIT Cy Seymour "Portrait" (PSA Good 2) – "1 of 1"; Only 2 Graded Higher!

One of the most sought after rare T206 backs is "UZIT" cigarettes, bested in scarcity by only the Ty Cobb Ad Back, Brown Old Mill, Brown Lenox and Broadleaf 460 advertisement backs. While the obscure "DRUM" ad backs and "UZIT" now run "neck and neck" regarding scarcity level (due to the renowned "St. Louis DRUM Find" several years ago), what we know with 100% certainly is that T206 UZIT subjects are few and far between. Consider that PSA has encapsulated nearly 231,000 T206's with only 143 or a microscopic .06% listed as UZIT backs (at the time this was written)! With that in mind, presented here is an extremely rare Cy Seymour PSA 2 UZIT specimen that resides as the SOLE example at this assessment with a meager 2 specimens graded higher!

Seymour's timeless and well-centered portrait pose provides stupendous clarity and contrast, situated against a bold baby blue background. No glaring surface blemishes are evident on the obverse side with the technical assessment primarily due to uniform rounded corners that include some modest layering at the top edges. The critical UZIT cigarette ad has managed to retain its original imposing blue color, with the verso's surface only revealing some stray toning and/or modest soiling. However, as most would agree, with only five other PSA listed UZIT Cy Seymour subjects on their illustrious "pop" chart, the fine eye appeal and sheer existence of this tobacco rarity are more than sufficient for any world-class T206 compilation!
