(LOT 42)
Ultra-Rare T206 Otto Kruger (Krueger) Missing Red Ink & Including an Additional Kruger Ghost Image - Piedmont 350 Subjects Color (SGC "Authentic")

One of the hottest tobacco-card collecting angles is assembling obscure T206 variations, whereby printing anomalies produced cards with skewed colors, overprints, re-striked images/cigarette ads, ghost images, etc. With many of these existing skewed cards unique for their particular subjects, they have captured the imagination of T206 enthusiasts. One such specimen is this truly eclectic Otto Kruger (Krueger) T206 offering that is missing the standard red ink background as well as including a Krueger ghost image alongside his standard portrait pose.

The obvious printing error has replaced the typical bold red background with a faint the yellow hue, with a Krueger ghost image additionally added alongside his standard portrait pose. An additional "blip" reveals the "KRUGER, COLUMBUS" caption along the top border, rather than being affixed to the standard lower border. In typical fashion, the compromised edging and aforementioned print anomalies account for the "Authentic assessment, that due to the card's extreme rarity and desirability, is rendered virtually irrelevant versus the card's sheer existence!
