(LOT 30)
1903 E107 Breisch Williams Candy LaChance "Type 1" (PSA EX 5/MK) – "1 of 1" & The Highest Graded Example on the COMBINED SGC & PSA "Pop" Charts!

The combined PSA and SGC "Pop Charts" only reveal five Candy LaChance E107 examples, with this "best of the rest" PSA EX 5/MK offering proudly standing tall as the SOLE and HIGHEST GRADED specimen on the planet! Candy LaChance broke into the Major Leagues in 1893 with the Brooklyn Bridegrooms and after only playing in 11 games that inaugural season, he would eclipse the .300 batting mark in five of his next seven campaigns. His classic Carl Horner portrait pose depicts outstanding clarity and contrast, with the stoic image significantly favoring the upper left edges.

The iconic "BA" (representing Boston Americans) situated on his period-style jersey is likewise brilliant, and no major creasing is evident with the final compliment for this extreme scarcity being the verso's "One of a hundred and fifty prominent Baseball players" text. We have scoured this card to find the reason for the "MK" qualifier and simply cannot find any noticeable markings. We can only assume a light notation was possibly erased, with its previous standing only picked up by a high-powered lens. A magnificent LaChance E107 offering, it has steadfastly withstood the test of time to boast the unquestionable prestige of being the finest of its kind!
