(LOT 71)
1933 Goudey #160 Lou Gehrig PSA 7 NM

SWEET LOU!!! The Iron Horse, Lou Gehrig, played in an amazing 2,130 consecutive games from 1925-1939 for the Bronx Bombers and was named the American League MVP in 1927 and 1936. He continuously led or was close to leading nearly every important offensive statistic for most of his career and is, if possible, the most underrated slugger in the history of the game. Whether his star was diminished by the supernova glow of the great Babe Ruth or the quintessential outfield artistry of a young Joe DiMaggio, Gehrig never the less performed admirably day in and day out throughout his career. This presentation of one of baseball's greatest players comes from the most important pre-war gum set, the 1933 Goudey series. Offered in a NM 7 holder. An amazing image of Gehrig on the front makes you feel the card was just unwrapped and seen for the first time. The back is solid and as good as the front, this one would be a highlight in any high end collection.
