1909 T206 Harry Covaleski Coveleski – Piedmont 150 Subjects (PSA Mint 9); 1 of 2; NONE Graded Higher!
PSA has currently encapsulated over 350 T206 Harry Coveleski examples with a microscopic-like 2 specimens managing PSA Mint 9 assessment. Presented here just happens to be one of those two finest graded copies, an absolutely breathtaking PSA Mint 9 marvel that just happens to be the SOLE example listed on the PSA "pop" chart with a Piedmont Cigarettes ad back! As a further world-class testament for this unfathomable offering, of the total 223,300+ PSA encapsulated T206's, a meager 0.12% have managed to receive a Mint 9 grade with only 13 specimens graded higher. Indeed, finding a Mint T206 subject is synonymous to the old adage "finding a needle in a haystack", with this Harry Coveleski masterpiece worthy of the highest hobby accolades.
Nicknamed the "Giant Killer" because he beat them three times in a five-day period during the 1908 pennant race with the Cubs, southpaw Harry Coveleski eventually became a 20-game winner in 1914 with Detroit and continued on to compile three consecutive 20 win seasons. Synonymous with his "winning ways" are the aesthetics of his miraculous keepsake that have managed to retain virtually all of their original factory issued attributes. Sparking blue/green hues, an extremely well centered image, crystal clear clarity, razor sharp corner tips and pristine-like surfaces are the highlights of this nearly "unique for the grade" gem. Not an ordinary "common" by any means, it would immediately become one of the centerpiece attractions in any esteemed PSA Registered T206 compilation!
