Offered for your consideration is a gorgeous original oil painting of Baseball Hall Of Famer, Mike Kelly, measuring 17"x11"x1". The oil painting is a rendition of the N173 Dogs Head/Old Judge Cabinet Card. For persons unfamiliar with N173 cabinet cards, they are sepia toned photos that were glued to a cardboard mount that measures approximately 6 1/4" x 4 1/4". They were premium redemptions from Old Judge cigarettes. The full color original artwork offered here is by Dawn Malick. It depicts the player in the actual uniform colors from that time period. Ms. Malick has done similar art work that was used in the making of the 19th Century HOF Postcard set (10 players) the National baseball Hall Of Fame In Cooperstown now sells. The uniform colors were researched and provided by longtime hobbyist, Mark Rucker. This image has been copyrighted by Robert Ball. The image from this oil painting will be presented to the Baseball Hall Of Fame for the possible issue of a second series of the 19th Century HOF Postcard set. The oil painting has been stretched and is ready for hanging "as is". The image you are viewing, whether in the catalog, or online, does not do justice to the true richness of the colors on the canvas.
