(LOT 101)
c.1930's Moe Berg PSA Type I Original International News Photo – Measures Approx. 6-5/8" x 8-1/2" - PSA Type I LOA

Ultra-popular with collectors, catcher Moe Berg may have been the most scholastic baseball player ever. He was a lawyer, mathematician and could speak 12 languages. Unfortunately, he couldn't "hit a lick", prompting the statement: "he can speak 12 languages but can't hit in any one of them"! Regardless, he was a prestigious individual, and was even used as an atomic spy in WWII, obtaining critical information on various German scientists. His catching image on this PSA Type I c.1930's original International News Photo is absolutely spectacular, as he poses in his "knees squatting" position with his catcher's ready to snatch a pitched baseball. Measuring approximately 6-5/8" x 8-1/2", the black & white image reveals outstanding resolution and contrast, with the illustration well centered between four clean white borders. Both surfaces have eluded any serious flaws, and the verso reflects the critical International News Photo credit stamp. A wonderful keepsake taken during the height of Moe Berg's 15-year career, it unquestionably stands as one of his finest photos extant! - LOA – PSA/DNA Type I
