William Harridge Signed Government Postcard PSA/DNA MINT 9
This MINT 9 PSA/DNA Graded and Authenticated GPC has been signed by Baseball Hall Of Famer William Harridge. Harridge was an executive whose most significant role was as president of the American League (AL) from 1931 to 1959. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Veteran's Committee in 1972. He is more widely known for a ruling that he made in 1951 when dwarf Eddie Gaedel signed a contract with Bill Veeck's St. Louis Browns. Gaedel registered one career plate appearance in August of that year, earning a walk on four straight pitches. Harridge decided that Veeck was making a mockery of baseball and he cancelled Gaedel's contract the next day. Don't miss this executives autograph which has been graded a MINT 9!
