T206 Black Lenox Hughie Jennings "One Hand Showing" (PSA 1) - SOLE Black Lenox Copy on the COMBINED PSA & SGC "Pop" Charts!
Hobby enthusiasts will always link Hall of Famer Hughie Jennings to the renowned "Eeyah" phrase he consistently shouted from the coaching box (it means "watch out" in Hawaiian), with many of his "E" and "T" cards utilizing his classic "Eeyah" body language pose. With That said, presented here is arguably one of Jennings most amazing "Eeyah" poses affixed to any cardboard subject, a possibly "unique" T206 Jennings "One Hand Showing" example sporting the super scarce Black Lenox verso. Its supreme rarity is justified by the COMBINED PSA and SGC census reports listing this as the SOLE specimen on the planet! Before his legendary managerial stint with the Detroit Tigers, Jennings was the late 19th century shortstop star of the Baltimore Orioles.
Along with fellow stars such as Keller, McGraw and Robinson, he played a major role in leading the Orioles to 3 consecutive pennants from 1894 - 1896, even batting .401 in a single season. Yet, for all of his "on the field" accomplishments, he is still widely renowned for his managerial stint with the Detroit Tigers where he won 3 consecutive A.L. championships his first three years of managing (1907 - 1909). Black Lenox subjects are considered among the top 10 T206 ad back rarities, with this virtually impossible Jennings offering now available for the taking.
While significant creasing and paper loss account for the accurate technical assessment, the iconic Jennings central image and critical Lenox advertisement have both "side-stepped" any obtrusive flaws. The overall condition, however, is rendered virtually negligible considering this utmost tobacco scarcity currently stands as a "one of a kind" encapsulated marvel!
