1933 DeLong #21 Jimmy Foxx PSA 8 NM-MT
FOXX!!!... Similar to the unparalleled power of Jimmy Foxx's mighty swing comes along this astonishing PSA 8 1933 DeLong specimen that along with eight other examples resides as the finest of its kind! Issued by the DeLong Gum Company of Boston, Mass. in 1933, the 24-subject set includes some of baseball's premier 1930's stars including Gehrig, Foxx, Simmons, and Grove. Regarding Foxx, along with Aaron and Hornsby, this hard hitting 1st baseman is regarded as one of the three greatest right-handed hitters in baseball history. His .325 lifetime batting average, 1,921 RBIs, 534 homeruns, 1933 Triple Crown and incredible 13 consecutive seasons of 100+ RBIs substantiate this notion and solidify his unbridled legacy.
It is with little surprise that his awestruck peers called him "The Beast", and save Ruth, Gehrig and DiMaggio, his 1930's cards are widely recognized as the most desirable and valuable cardboard mementos from that decade. This PSA 8 offering's pristine-like condition absolutely defies logic as it appears to have just been "pulled" from a 1933 DeLong gum pack. His classic swinging pose is gorgeous, providing a miraculous combination of sheer perfection with regard to its superior contrast and rich red, green, yellow and blue hues. The imposing swinging pose reflects fine centering, exhibiting only a trace of favoritism towards the right edge.
Pinpoint corners, bright white borders, brilliant surfaces and the versos bold/vivid text are the final compliments for one of the finest Foxx cards extant. Now is the perfect time to emulate "Double X" himself by stepping up to the plate and capturing this highest graded DeLong "pack-fresh" masterpiece! _
