Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams Signed Photo PSA/DNA LOA
This 24" x 22" black and white photo features the signatures of Baseball Hall of Famers Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio. DiMaggio adds his uniform number, "#5", while Williams inscribes "Summer of '49." That season, the Splendid Splinter and the Yankee Clipper battled fiercely, with the Yankees finishing just one game ahead of the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees would go on to defeat the Dodgers in the World Series in five games. Interestingly, many may not know that in 1949, Boston Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey and Yankees GM Larry MacPhail had a verbal agreement to trade DiMaggio for Williams, but MacPhail ultimately refused to include Yogi Berra in the deal.
