Napoleon Lajoie Signed Government Post Card PSA/DNA Authentic
Napoleon "Larry" Lajoie was a second baseman who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball. Known as "the Frenchman," he represented both Philadelphia franchises and the Cleveland Naps, the latter of which he became the namesake and served as player-manager from 1905 to 1909. Lajoie was part of the second group of players elected to the Hall of Fame in 1937, and he was officially inducted on June 12, 1939, when the Hall opened. Offered here is a government postcard postmarked September 10, 1940, featuring a beautiful fountain pen signature from Lajoie, inscribed with the date "9-7-40." His strong and distinctive signature comes from a Baseball Hall of Famer who was a five-time NL batting champion, AL home run leader, three-time RBI leader, and a Triple Crown winner in 1901. Lajoie was a true pioneer in the game we call America's Pastime.
