1887 Allen & Ginter N35 American Editors Complete SGC-Graded Set (50)
NERD HEAVEN!!! The extremely rare 1887 Allen & Ginter N35 American Editors set, measuring 2-7/8" x 3-1/4" each, mirrored the smaller N1 series release around the same time. These colorful and ornate issues were typical of the Allen & Ginter brand, with delightful imagery and seemingly hand-painted artwork on each with a portrait lithographic bust of the subject editor. This incredibly 50-card complete set here consisted of one SGC 7.5 NM+: S.J. Flickinger; two SGC 7 NM: W.W. Clapp & Albert Lamar; three SGC 6 EX-NM: Geo. Childs, Joseph Medill & Charles Taylor; three SGC 5.5 EX+; 17 SGC 5 EX; 13 SGC 4 VG-EX; seven SGC 3 VG and four SGC 2 GOOD. There are 28 POP 1 editions with another 15 listed as only POP 2. Twenty-seven of these artful examples are the highest graded while 15 others have only a single card graded higher. This rare 19th-century set is for the non-sport super nerd who collects newspaper editors and the like!
