1957 Topps Basketball Complete Set with 25 SGC-Graded
The 80-card 1957 Topps Basketball issue is one of the most monumental hoops sets ever released that includes 28 Hall of Fame subjects, and given the 12-year absence from trading card industry, more than 75 rookie editions. 25 of the 28 HOFers are 1st-year issues. Offered here is an incredible ungraded complete set with 25 cards graded by SGC. Graded issues include: SGC 7: 17 Cousy; SGC 6.5: 2 Yardley, 5 Sharman, 6 King, 32 Kerr; SGC 5.5: 27 Macauley, 41 Graboski; SGC 5: 8 Ricketts, 9 Nichols, 13 Schayes, 16 McGuire, 21 Meineke, 24 Pettit, 26 Shue, 35 Felix, 37 Hagan, 40 Risen, 44 Gola, 56 Houbregs, 63 Harrison, 66 McMahon, 70 Coleman, 76 Holup, 77 Russell; and SGC 4: 1 Clifton. It should be noted that virtually every card that is ungraded has centering issues which would make grading a futile exercise. Centering issues aside, overall, 35% appear EX-MT to NM, 45% EX with the remaining being VG-EX or lesser. 40% of the ungraded cards show varying degrees of "snow" that is so frequently seen in these cards.
