1928 Sociedade Industrial Sport Series #107 McGraw/Mathewson PSA 7 NM
FROM ANGOLA!!! Similar to El Salvador's Tabacalera la Morena series, the Sociedade Industrial Sport Series out of Angola consisted of only 62 black-and-white issues. The rarity of these cards cannot be overstated as there are only 112 cards graded by PSA. Offered here is one of the two highest graded Christy Mathewson & John McGraw examples holdered 7 NM by PSA, with only a total of four graded examples. This card #107 catches the legendary manager and his former ace atop the step of the dugout during the 1913 World Series.

Originally captured by sports photographer extraordinaire, Charles Conlon, the image was shot at home during Game 1, 3 or 5 as the duo don their home white uniforms. Borderless but sharp, this photo remains in exceptional condition with nominal surface abrasions that fail to impede the impressive depiction of the Giants' two most notable figures of the era. The corners are sharp and the back is clean and crisp. Minor tilt on the reverse may have led to the lesser assessment, but this Conlon image of the New York Giants to most prominent figures is sure to be a highlight of any Hall of Fame collection.
