(LOT 358)
1915 Cracker Jack #18 Johnny Evers PSA 7 NM

THE HUMAN CRAB!!! Chicago Cubs Johnny Evers, Hall of Fame second baseman, was a key part of the legendary Tinker-to-Evers-to-Chance double-play combination that defined the Cubs' dominance in the early 1900s. Considered one of the smartest players to ever walk on a diamond, Evers helped lead Chicago to back-to-back World Series titles in 1907 & '08 and then the unlikely champion Miracle Braves from Boston in 1914 over the heavily favored Philadelphia A's. Unfortunately for Evers who has aspirations of managing, Johnny helmed only two teams over three years posting a 129-120 record with the Cubs (1913 as player/manager & 1921) and the Chicago White Sox (1924), becoming the only manager to run both Chicago teams until Ruch Renteria 100 years later. This card is exceptional due to its sharp edges, vivid colors, and pristine surfaces. Given Evers' prominent place in baseball history, this card is a must-have for any serious vintage card collectors!
