In 1956, Mickey Mantle upended the American League, capturing the challenging Triple Crown with league-leading 52 home runs, 130 RBIs and a .353 average as he led the Yankees to the fourth of his seven World Series titles. After being awarded the AL MVP that season, the Commerce Comet did not let up in '57 as he, once again, led the Yankees to the AL flag, but also garnered his second straight MVP Award, scoring a league high 121 runs, clouted 34 dingers while driving in 94 and batting a career-high .363.The Mick just kept rolling along, winning two more home run titles and setting the still-standing mark for World Series home runs at 18 over 12 World Series.
