1930 Babe Ruth Signed Yankee Payroll Check PSA/DNA Authentic
In 1930, the New York Yankees made The Babe the highest paid player in the Major Leagues, more than doubling the next highest salaried player. Babe Ruth rewarded his club by batting .359 with another league-leading 49 home runs and 136 RBIs. He also took the mound for the first time in eight years in the final game of the season, winning 9-3 in a complete game. Presented here is a spring training expense check from the New York Yankees to "George H. Ruth" in the amount of $210 for a "Hotel Bill allowed Ruth as per Voucher" according to the reverse notation. PSA/DNA has encapsulated this March 12, 1930 check from "The Harriman National Bank & Trust Co." as Authentic and Ruth has boldly signed the reverse in black fountain pen. The signature is strong and bold, though it likely lost out on a grade due to the cancellation punch overlapping his autograph. This would still make an exceptional Babe Ruth autograph for any Bambino collector or signed check enthusiast.
