(LOT 12)
1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson PSA 2 GOOD

GOLD BORDER!!! One of the hobby's most highly coveted keepsakes is the 1909 T204 Ramly Walter Johnson, accepted as one of his foremost MLB conventional sized cards along with his 1909 T206 and T204 Johnson subjects, each of which is considered one of his "mainstream" rookie cards. Regardless of your viewpoint on the Big Train's true rookie card, his T204 Ramly issue remains one of Johnson's most significant cardboard issues. Presented here is an attractive PSA 2 GOOD offering of this extremely condition-sensitive memento. Though the 1909 T204 Ramly release is lacking the heavy hitters and Hall of Famers like Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson and Napoleon Lajoie, to name a few, Walter Johnson leads the charge with his inaugural issue offered here.

A superb black & white central image of Carl Horner's legendary Johnson portrait image emanates near-perfect contrast and exceptional focus of Johnson's youthful image. Encompassed by the popular gold-bordered oval and garish gold background designs, Big Train is well-positioned between lightly weathered borders that have managed to elude significant surface chipping, though some is visible. Even corner wear depicts rounding at the tips, both surfaces are relatively clean with a back revealing the "Ramly Turkish Cigarettes" advertisement and no glaring flaws.

Johnson's accomplishments grow increasingly untouchable, including 417 lifetime wins, 3,508 strikeouts, a lifetime 2.17 ERA, and an incredible 110 shutouts. He and Cy Young remain in a league of their own. Given the scarcity of this incredible 1909 T204 Ramly Johnson, you should ride this magnificent Big Train heirloom directly into the heart of your prized collection!
