1901-1908 "Lightweight Champions" Joe Gans Cabinet Card with Original Backing
This cabinet card encloses an original photo of Lightweight Champion Joe Gans. Inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame, Gans was rated the greatest lightweight boxer of all time by boxing historian and Ring Magazine founder, Nat Fleischer. Nicknamed the "Old Master", he became the first African-American world boxing champion of the 20th century, reigning continuously as world lightweight champion from 1902 to 1908. A very rare opportunity to obtain an original cabinet card from the early 1900s.
