This Gold Hall of Fame Plaque has been signed in a ballpoint pen by Satchel Paige in the top left corner. Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971, Satchel Paige became the first player elected based primarily on his play in the Negro Leagues. He played in the Negro Leagues from 1926-1947, Cleveland (AL) from 1946-1949, St. Louis (AL) from 1951-1953 and Kansas City (AL) in 1965. He helped pitch the Cleveland Indians to a pennant in his first big league year at the age of 42! A true legend.
