There is a reason that 6'4" Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President of the United States, has been immortalized and carved 60 feet tall into the side of a mountain in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He, along with the sculpted heads of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt, helped shape our United States into one of the most respected and enduring democracies in the world. The abolishment of slavery, which was the underlying reason for the Civil War, as well as the modernization of our economy and increasing the power of our federal government, made the US the mightiest country in the world in less than 100 years since its inception. In 1888, only three years after his tragic assassination in 1865, W. Duke Sons & Co. produced the Great Americans trading card set, including this Abraham Lincoln graded 6 EX-MT by PSA. This is one of three highest graded issues according to PSA. The color and lithography are phenomenal, with his bust image accompanied by slave shackles and his "Emancipation" proclamation. Excellent example!
