(LOT 108)
1948 Bowman #66 Jim Pollard Rookie PSA 9 MINT

Jim Pollard led the Minneapolis Lakers to five championships in six years (one BAA & five NBA); the first six seasons of existence for the Lakers franchise. Playing alongside the NBA's first superstar George Mikan, the Lakers went 313-163 for an outstanding .658 winning percentage with Pollard at forward. His superior ball handling skills, finesse, shooting and leaping ability earned him the nickname Kangaroo Kid. Pollard was reportedly able to dunk the basketball from the foul line, à la MJ and Vince Carter, and teamed with Mikan and Vern Mikkelson to form one of the great front threes in the game. Offered here is a 1948 Bowman #66 Jim Pollard rookie card graded 9 MINT by PSA. This vibrant and colorful example offers a robust indigo background with Pollard defending expertly front and center. Terminating with super sharp edging and corners, the snow-white borders are virtually free from flaws while the surfaces are cleaner than clean. Only six match this highest graded example from PSA.
