(LOT 1862)
1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Ticket Stub; Sandy Koufax's First Career Victory PSA 1.5 FR

SANDY'S FIRST WIN!!! As is the case with many hard-throwing pitchers, wildness can get the better of them, forcing lengthier "seasoning" time as they work to harness the superhuman power. Such was the case with Sandy Koufax, whose ability to strike out opposing batters was apparent early on, but control kept him from a starting rotation, along with Walt Alston's preference for veteran pitching. But you can only keep a good man down for so long, and Sandy Koufax overcame his wild arm, turning it into the "Left Arm of God" as he posted perhaps the greatest five-year span in MLB history for any hurler. From 1962 to 1966, Koufax won three Cy Young Awards, winning the pitching Triple Crown in each of those years (1963, '65 & '66) and the 1963 NL MVP Award. The offered 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Ticket Stub encased 1.5 FR by PSA comes from Sandy Koufax's very first win against the Cincinnati Reds, a 7-0 shutout at Ebbets Field in which he allowed only two hits and struck out 14 Reds. Most likely shoved deep in the pocket of some Bums fan, this PSA 1.5 ticket stub marks the first victory of the greatest Dodgers pitcher in history. Any ardent Dodger fan should have this relic on their radar to complete their collection!
